From our very first visit to this property, there have been so many questions… so many mysteries. I feel a little like the Alden children, trying to solve a mystery(ies). So in order to keep track of them, I’m throwing all of our questions into one post.. and we will slowing figure them out as we go!
- Behind the casita: 6′ x 4′ x 12″ deep indentation the dirt with 5 steel pipes lying across. A cloth tarp is laid underneath the pipes.
- We originally thought maybe these were lines supplying something (?) to somewhere? Fuel lines from the underground tanks? Electrical lines to the barns? Water lines?
- After a little looking, we realized these were not pines to anything, but just cut pieces of pipe protecting what was underneath.
- Not going to lie, I was nervous to pick up that tarp.. a little worried about what might be buried underneath…. but finally I took a breath and lifted it up, to find… valves! So valves to what? I’m guessing that they lead to the barns. Still investigating.
- Underground storage tank
- Box with a pump/equipment in the side yard of the house.
- We think this may be the pump for the cistern under the house. We can’t get the cistern open to see what is inside.
- Asphalt behind the house.
