Tearing down the old meat locker

Pulling the old meat locker over with the truck

When we moved onto the property, immediately as you turn onto the driveway, there was an old old old building. It looked like it was full of bullet holes.  I thought it was some old outhouse that had be used for target practice later in life.  It was heavily tilted and appeared to be supported only by the door that was propped open.  Full of boxes and subsequently rat parties of yesteryear… parts of insulation and papers were shredded all over the place.  It was an eyesore, but more importantly, it was a safety hazard, especially with 3 rambunctious boys running around.  It made it to the top of the priority list.  Matt went in there to clean out anything that looked like it might be worth saving.  There were tons of old banker boxes business transactions, statements, and inventories.  In amongst the boxes were parts of tiles, complementing the tile business that we could see reflected on the bank statements.  A whole life or two or three was lived here before.  There were all kinds of Reader’s Digest books, a Merriam Webster Dictionary, and probably the coolest thing we found was part of a dissection kit – with a jar of a frog and a crawdad in formaldehyde.

Finished!
