My attempts, (failures and successes) to reduce the preservatives, lessen the pesticides, and improve the probiotics…
Rumor has it that there are irrigation lines all over the property. But where? Where are the valves to turn it on and off? If it is irrigation water coming from a canal, how is there enough pressure for these sprinklers installed?
When you have an 80 year old house, every day is a new project. But where to even start? And how to even start?
Hi! We’re Matt and Emily. And we recently moved our family out to some acreage to pursue our homestead/country living/digging in the dirt life that we each separately have dreamed about for years, and morphed into a team dream of ours. The idea to start a blog of the traps, craps, and mishaps in our attempt to find simplicity was actually started when we ran into an old neighbor of ours, and I started telling her about the rusted pipes and bats in the laundry room and she jokingly suggested we start a blog. Which I thought was silly and laughed it off. But as the idea was tossed around in the back of our minds, we started to realize the beauty of a blog – for more reasons than one: it would be a way to keep track of our progress, but it may also provide some entertainment along the way for those who have lived it, want to live it, or would never in a million years want this “dream.” So come alongside us as we figure out how to wrangle loose cows, do laundry outdoors in the middle of December, fix piping from yesteryear, and all the other things we are rapidly learning!
